In modern buildings the design, installation, and control systems of various functions are integrated into one or more HVAC systems. Heaters exist for various types of fuel, including solid fuels, liquids, and gases. Another type of heat source is electricity, used in baseboard heaters. Alternatively, warm air may be distributed through duct work systems using metal or fiberglass ducts. Many systems use the same ducts to distribute air cooled by an evaporator coil for air conditioning. Because an air conditioner moves heat between the indoor coil and the outdoor coil, both must be kept clean. This means that you must regularly clean the condenser coil, in addition to replacing the air filter at the evaporator coil.
HVAC technicians may receive training from technical schools or community colleges that offer HVAC programs in heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration. These programs generally last from 6 months to 2 years, and lead to a certificate or an associate’s degree. The median annual wage for heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration HVAC engineering technicians was $45,110 as of May 2015. Further, employment of HVAC program graduates is projected to grow 14 percent over the next decade, much faster than average.

Mining
Mining techniques have dramatically transformed over many years, with technological advances improving efficiency and safety. In the discovery stage of mineral exploration, mining engineers work closely with geologists to identify minerals and assess reserve quantities. Mineral engineers may then drill core samples and conduct surface surveys, searching for specific compounds and ores. Unless the mineral exploration is done on public lands, the property owners may play a significant role in mining exploration.Generally, mining is either done from the surface or underground. Surface mining requires the stripping of surface vegetation, dirt, and if necessary, layers of bedrock in order to reach buried ore deposits. Additionally, explosives may be called for in order to facilitate breakage. Hard minerals such as limestone, sand, gravel, and slate are generally quarried into a series of benches. Strip mining, on the other hand, is more appropriate for softer minerals such as clays and phosphate. In-situ mining can be done from the surface using dissolving agents, retrieving the ore via pumps. Finally, hydraulic jets may be utilized to wash away the overburden or to clear out the ore itself.

Engineering Job Listings
The Fundamentals of Engineering exam should be taken immediately after earning a bachelors degree from an ABET-accredited program. Engineers who pass this exam are called engineers in training (EIT), or engineer interns. After meeting work experience requirements, engineer interns can attempt a second certifying exam, called the Principles and Practice of Engineering Exam. Thereafter, acquisition of a professional engineering license enables management of junior engineers, the ability to sign off on engineering projects, and provide services directly to the public. Wages vary by employer and location. Aside from salary, most engineering jobs include excellent benefits, as well as retirement plans.Job listings below are updated hourly: | Starting Salary (up to) | 10 Year Salary (up to) |
